My name is Andre Krumel Portella, and I’m a pediatrician and neuroscientist that works on the cross-links between development, metabolism, genomics, and neurosciences. I’m particularly interested in studying the mechanisms and consequences of early life adversity in programming risk for obesity-related diseases later in life. To achieve that, I use a transdisciplinary and translational approach, combining studies that range from basic science (animal models of disease) to epidemiological studies.
